Celebrating Max

Oh Max, Maxi, The Maximus, Maximillian reptilian, Maxer and all those other names you answer to - you have come a long way from only wanting to be called AiGang. The past year has been a big one of change for you - a new family, new language, new surroundings and friends. You have proven to be a very adaptable little guy. We are thrilled with how you have adjusted to this new life. Our hearts smile when we hear you talk fondly about having a family now. What a sweetheart you are. Max, you have captured all the ladies hearts with you sweet ways and dimples. We hear over and over from your teachers and other ladies you come in contact with, about how much they love you. You give kisses and hugs freely as well as throwing in the line, "I'm going to miss you!" It melts the ladies hearts. You also like to own people - instead of just calling people by name you call them, "my Deborah, my Stephanie, my YinYin". You charmer.

You have grown SO much in the past year! In just nine month you grew almost 4.5 inches! You have huge feet that continue to just keep on growing! You are very strong and can even pick up your sister. At the last check up you weighed in at 34 pounds ... just shy of what McKaden weighs. We are fairly sure you will be some kind of amazing athlete - you have such talent and are quick and agile. You love to swim and are getting really good at swimming underwater. You think gymnastics are fun, although you sometimes get a little sidetracked and want to do you own thing.

You are a good brother to McKaden - well, most of the time. You are definitely the little brother who likes to push her buttons. We get a laugh out of it as we remember what it was like to have younger siblings. When you and McKaden go your separate ways at school you always hug and and say good by - you two are little buddies. You also love your cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncle and spend many an hour making them cards.

Your language skills amaze us - we are sure that we could not learn a new language like you have in just one year. You still struggle to say the letter "S" but are working on it. You are still working on your color's but getting better everyday. You have mastered the scissors and like to cut everything you can find - good thing we put some limits on that. Your teachers at school adore you and we have been told that you are the class clown - we are not surprised.

Max, we love you so much and are so glad that you joined our family. You really do complete us. We love the laughter you bring along with the hugs and kisses. Yes, you have had your fair share of time in the naughty corner, but we are glad you are strong willed - we think it will be a strength in future. This first year with you has gone by so quickly - so many great new adventures we were able to share with you. We love you Max!
[the pictures were of when we went to the Curious George exhibit to celebrate Max day - you loved it!]
