Home for a month

I cannot believe that a month has gone by since we returned home. Max and Mac are doing great and seem to get a little more used to each other every day. Max made a real turn last week in the language department and that has been fun to see. For a few weeks he has had a great understanding of what we are saying and can respond with the right actions - even when I just mentioned I needed scissors and he went and got them out of the kitchen drawer! [needless to say we have put them up!] He is putting a few words together and even said, "Now you be careful Mama." He loves to tell us what things are called and alerts us to every boat that goes by, every bird that flies by each dog that barks. He can name more and more things out of his pictures books and will even watch a little tv now. He is starting to enjoy books and listens to the story. Max continues to love to go on adventures and is known to yell "Let's GO!" McKaden is doing better with having a brother. We are starting to see more and more times where they are showing affection to each other and even seem to look out for each other. They are beginning to play a little more together but Max's language skills are not quite up to McKaden's playing standards - he just does not make that pony talk the way she wants him to. They do laugh a lot and seem to even have some secret jokes between them. Max still prefers to eat meat for every meal - suppose that little body is trying to catch up on things. He still has that sweet singing voice and we will start up with Kindermusik this week. I have a feeling that he is going to LOVE it! Swimming lessons are now something he really looks forward to and is even starting to put his head in the water. We are having no problems with sleep for either of the kids and have even moved them to an earlier bed time. We have had a few nights in a row with the kids in bed by 930p - it feels like we have so much more time in the evening now -of course they are getting up a little earlier and that is stealing time from my office time - oh well.

Once again we give God the glory for bringing our family together the way that he has. We are so glad that we chose adoption as the way to build our family and have no regrets. As we meet people along the way who inquire to whether we are going to have our "own" children too, we just laugh - these two could not be any more OUR children! We know they were chosen to be in our family. How amazing is that.

I love your OWN children! Can you believe we've been home a month??? You'll never guess what happened today! We tried a new Chinese restaurant, and the owners are from Foshan!!! We were told that if you mispronounce Kaeleb's nickname it meant Monkey, and sure enough, April was saying Monkey, but Mom got it right :) Rambling here ...

Hello Mark and Lori,
It makes me smile so big to see your pictures and hear your update. I am so excited that things are going so well for your family. (Your own family) McKaden and Max both look very happy and loved. Take care and may God continue to bless you.

I wanted to ask you to pray for Connie and I as we start a wonderful journey. Connie and I along with 3 other ladies from our church are in the process of starting a web site to help aid and support orphaned children and adoptive parents. We are both very excited about this incredible journey God is taking us on. Thanks for your prayers and we will keep you posted.
